What if my child is too young for the instrument I want to select?
Younger musicians who begin on violin could easily transition to viola. Young musicians who begin on instruments such as the recorder could then transition to an instrument like oboe, flute, or clarinet when they turn 8. Students who begin on saxophone at age 8 could transition to oboe or bassoon at around two years of experience.
